Once upon a time in Norway, there was a farm.  On the farm lived a Ram who was fed a lot of food.

Hace mucho tiempo en Noruega, había una finca.  En la finca vivía un carnero a quien le daba mucha comida.

One day, Maid, who lived at the farm, came to see Ram.  She said, "Ram you have always had a lot of food to eat.  And that is good because tomorrow you are going to be on our dinner plates!"
 Un día, Criada, quien vivía en la finca, vino a ver Carnero.  Dijo ella, "Carnero, tú has tenido mucho para comer.  Y eso es bueno porque mañana vas a estar en nuestros platos para la cena!"
One day, Maid came to see Ram
Oh, my!  This was not good to hear!   Ram ate his food.  Then he ran out of the pen.  He went to the next farm.  That is where his best friend Pig lived. Ay!  Este no era bueno escuchar!  Carnero comió su comida. Entonces, salió corriendo del corral.  Fue a la proxima finca.  Eso es donde su major amigo, Cerdo vivía.
"Good day, friend pig!" said Ram. "Buenos días, amigo Cerdo!" dijo Carnero.
"And a good day to you, too!" said Pig. "Buenos días!" dijo Cerdo.
"I just found out," said Ram, "why it is that we are so well fed."
 "Acabo de descubrir," dijo Carnero, "por qué es que nos alimenta tan buena."
"Why is that?" said Pig.
 "Por qué? dijo Cerdo.
"I will tell you" said Ram.  "They feed us because they want to kill us and eat us!"
 "Te voy a decir," dijo Carnero.  "Nos dan mucha comida porque quieren matarnos y comernos!"
"Oh, no!" said Pig.
"Ay, no!" dijo Cerdo.
"Yes!  That is what the maid told me who lives at the farm.  But I know what we can do.  Wem can go off to the woods.  We will build our own house.  Then we can live in our very own house in the woods!" "Si!  Eso es lo que me dijo la criada quien vive en la finca.  Podemos escaparse al bosque.  Construiremos nuestra propia casa.  Entonces podemos vivir en nuestra propia casa en el bosque!"
So Ram and Pig went off into the woods.  Soon they met Goose and Hare. Pues, Carnero y Cerdo se fueron al bosque.  Pronto conocieron Ganzo y Liebre.
"Good day," said Goose.  "Where are the two of you going?" "Buenos dias," dijo Ganzo.  "Donde van ustedes?"
"Good day to you, too," said Ram.  "We are going to build our very own house in the woods to live." "Buenos dias" dijo Carnero.  "Vamos a construir nuestra propia casa en el bosque para vivir."
"What a good thing to do," said Hare.  "May we come with you?" "Que cosa buena para hacer!" dijo Liebre.  "Podemos venir con ustedes?"
"Maybe," said Pig.  "What can the two of you do to help?" "Tal vez," dijo Cerdo.  "Como ustedes nos pueden ayudar?"

"With my beak I can put moss into cracks," said Goose.  "Your house will be warm." "Con mi pico puedo poner musgo en las grietas y los huecos," dijo Ganzo.  "Su casa será sólido."
"With my teeth I can chew pegs" said Hare.  "Your house will be strong." "Con mis dientes puedo mastigar las clavijas," dijo Liebre.  "Su casa sera sólido."
So Goose and Hare went with Ram and Pig.  Soon they met Rooster.  Rooster also wanted to come with them to build the house. Pues, Ganzo y Liebre fueron con Carnero y Cerdo.  Pronto concieron Gallo.  Gallo también querría venir con ellos para construir la casa.
"In the morning I will crow and crow," said Rooster.  "I will wake up everyone." "En la mañana cantaré y cantaré," dijo Gallo.  "Aseguraré que todos despierten."
So they all continued on into the woods. Todos seguían en el bosque.

In the woods nearby lived two wolves.  They saw that a new house was being built. Cerca en el bosque vivían dos lobos.  Vieron que se construían una casa nueva.
"This is good,"thought the wolves.  "Maybe we can eat the animals that are building the house!" "Que bueno!" pensaban los lobos.  "Tal vez podemos comer los animales que están construyendo la casa!"
One of the wolves went to the door.  He asked to be let inside.  As soon as the door was open, the wolf rushed in.  The ram gave him such a push that he fell on the stove.  Pig bit him.  Goose pecked him.  Rooster crowed and crowed.  Hare ran all around. "I am glad to be out of that house!" said the wolf.  "It is filled with monsters.  They push and bite and are very loud.  We must never go into that house again!"
